Frequently asked questions

What is Kvass?

Kvass is a thousand year old Eastern European drink made from fermented bread. Traditionally, families brewed it at home in villages and poured it from street kiosks. Homemade kvass has a tangy, malty taste and is naturally probiotic. Commercial bottled versions in supermarkets often lost that complexity, becoming overly sweet and flat. At Spooky’s Kiosk, we’re bringing back the depth of the original with all the flavour and gut-friendly qualities intact.

What makes spooky’s kitchen different?

We’re not just putting another fizzy health drink on the shelf. We’ve taken the authentic kvass recipe and reengineered it for today: long shelf life, live probiotics and flavour that stays true to its roots. Think of it as kvass that respects its history while being ready for the modern fridge.

Why the name spooky’s kiosk?

Spooky is our Siberian cat and she inspired the name. The kiosk part comes from the iconic Eastern European kiosks where kvass was traditionally sold. Together, they form the foundation of a little universe we’re building, one that’s more than just a drink. It’s a cultural corner shop of stories, humour and heritage.
